Elder Candidates 2025

Jason Park

Hello, my name is Jason Park.  I currently reside in Buena Park with my wife, Andrea, and 2 children, Madison (11) and Ryan (10).  I began attending CPC English Ministry in 2009, where I also met my wife, then attended CCSC and have been with Kindred since its launch.  I have served in various ministries including diaconal board, welcoming, young adults, small group, and college ministry.  Currently at Kindred, I am serving in the welcoming team and also lead, mainly participate, in a men’s small group.  I currently work for the Los Angeles County, Office of the Assessor.

In my free time, I like to spend it with family, golfing, and just hanging out with friends and other families.  I am grateful for this opportunity to walk alongside our congregation in faith and fellowship.

John P Lee

Born in Queens, New York, and raised in the suburbs of northern New Jersey, I grew up raking leaves, shoveling snow, and playing a lot of sports.  I met my wife, Jihye, in NJ and we moved to California together in 2011.  We are now joined by our three wonderful daughters, Addison (9), Evelyn (7), and Madeline (6).  We live in Cypress and have been involved with CPC, CCSC, and Kindred at the Artesia campus ever since landing in SoCal.

I currently serve on the welcoming team, finance team, and lead a small group.  Jihye and I also serve in the CPC education department as kindergarten teachers.  I work in healthcare information technology for Los Angeles County.  During my free time, I like to go on road trips and enjoy the outdoors.

Elder Qualifications

Titus 1:6–9

If anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

1 Timothy 3:2–7

Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.
